American Worker Benefits Are Not Entitlements!

It really gets my goat and sticks in my craw whenever I hear some radical mouth from the realm of Conservatism harping about my Social Security, my Medicare or my Veteran’s Health Care being “Entitlements.”

“Entitlements” are something that is given to a person with no strings attached– as a gift– Free– For Nothing!

My Social Security and My Medicare are things that I paid into for the entire length of my working life.  The cost for these “Entitlements” were taken from my paycheck as regular as rain each and every pay period.

My VA Benefits were earned by Seven Years and Three Months in the Military Services of The United States of America.  I spent that time in uniform willingly and voluntarily protecting the rights of the Far Right Wing nut cases to tell me that I am getting “Entitlements.”

When I hear some Reichtist say something like that, it makes me feel like less of a citizen– it gives me the feeling that somebody might think I am some kind of free loader on the American Taxpayer and it is total Bull —- (Can’t say it for the sake of decency.)

Another thing that really frosts my strawberry is the realization that, as a Taxpayer, I have supported the cushy life styles of those Reichtists who now insinuate these things about my “Entitlements”.

My taxes have helped to pay for their lavish parties and their vacations and their trips and their own health insurance program.

These politicians who are so quick to rag on my “Entitlements” don’t pay a dime toward their own benefits.

So who is getting “Entitlements” and who is not? The detractors are living in Hog Heaven on my dime and it…angers me (Wish I could print what I really wanted to say) when they have the unmitigated gall to talk about my earned benefits in the manner to which they seem to have become accustomed.

And these are the people who feel “Entitled” to cut my Social Security and Medicare?

I would like to know just who in the living “Heck” (Equivalent of the worse word describing the place of eternal torment in Christian Belief.) these people think they are?

I know that most of them are actually members of the 1% that you hear so much about. (Anyone ever know a poor Congressman?)

I get the sense, sometimes, that many of them are totally out of touch with what it is like to be something less than rich.

But to cut my benefits just because they have a little political clout?

I don’t think so.

And if they try it, I will vote for someone else next time around.  I can do that much anyway.

So my Fellow American Retired or Elderly Person, I have news for you. The Right Wing Extremeist Budget Whackers have been out to get what is rightfully yours for a long time now and if they get enough power up there in Washington, they may finally succeed and your Social Security and your Medicare and your Medicaid and your Food Stamps will all either be gone completely or cut so far back it won’t be funny!

Don’t think for a moment that just because you always vote for them you are going to be safe.

You might vote for them but you are not one of them and, unless you are very wealthy, you will never be one of them.

They will grab what is yours right along with the hated Liberals, Democrats and Progressives.  Just because you wear the badge of Conservatism doesn’t cut any ice with them.

So, I am pleading with you: Don’t vote against your own interests and give these financial vampires the power to suck us all dry of what little we have to get by on.
