John Liming - The Liming Liberal Democrat

How Everybody Should Vote For President In 2012!

I guess I am enough of an expert to tell everybody in America how they should vote in the 2012 Presidential Election.

Of course, I will keep most of my “Expertise” to myself because, in the final analysis, my “Expertise” will probably boil down to little more than some highly-opinionated, biased, Liberal Hog Wash and no one (Except the nominally sane) would want to hear any of that.

But, as a concerned citizen, I do have a patriotic obligation to put in my two cents worth— so, for what it is worth, here goes!

First of all, I would recommend that anyone who reads this blog post and who has some kind of education beyond “Grunt and Growl” should, most likely hook up with one or more of the established “Academic” think tanks who specialize in reasonable political discourse.

I am sure some of these can be located on the Internet or through the courtesy of your handy-dandy local University Librarian.

In fact, I have included a link to some of them at the end of this post.

For those who are less intellectually inclined (I would assume that is most of us), let me suggest the following as possible aids in making your decision as to how to vote in 2012 elections.

There are some political illusionists out there who would suggest that we pay particularly close attention to political primaries. The idea has been suggested to me that it is by means of these “Primaries” that we can find candied-dates who are most likely to keep their campaign promises once elected.

If that proposition has even the least grain of truth to it, I am already darned glad that I paid such close attention to the recent spate of Republican Primaries.

It pleases me to learn that I now know (By reason of having paid attention to the primaries) that some of the candied-dates (If elected) will put all our kids to work as school janitors while yet others will see to it that my Social Security and Medicaid will be thrown under the bus along with me.

I am pleased to be able to report that I now know (Because I paid attention to the primaries) which candied-date will work toward taking every last right and dignity away from women, for example and which ones will do their best to insure that we sacrifice a few thousand more of our brave  military people to the God of endless war in some God-forsaken never land.

Yes!  Primaries are good!  I now know who NOT to vote for.  I will not vote for a Conservative!  The Primaries have reinforced my willpower on that score.  Oh I have had a few laughs watching these things as I am sure everyone else has too.  And, as I have said before, “These Primaries have performed a vital service to the cause of Liberalism and have done more to get a Democrat elected in 2012 as anyone of good sense and good will could have possibly hoped for.

Primaries are good!

Now that we have taken the advice to watch the primaries, we find that there are some myth-informed out there on the side of Conservatism also advising us that “Politicians Can’t Be Trusted.”

Now that we have been given the advice on how to choose the politicians who will represent us in the 2012 elections, we are told in the next breath that politicans cannot be trusted.

My question?

“If the Reichtie that said those things is right, what good is voting in the first place?  If I watch primaries to determine which politician will do the best job of putting the screws to me, and if politicians can’t be trusted, what the Heck am I doing wasting my time at the voting booth in the first place?”

That is exactly how Conservatist propaganda wants us to think.

That is, in my opinion, just another subtle tactic designed to confuse and divide so that some people will get more frustrated with the system and simply stay home and not vote at all.

That is an old trick of Conservatism’s more extreme side.  It has worked before.  The 2000 election is one example.  I think this is why Radical Conservatism works so hard in some areas to pass voter suppression legislation.

I had one source suggest that if I am going to be an effective American and if I am ever going to cast an intelligent vote, I should do more reading of the American Constitution, The Declaration of Independence and The Bill of  Rights.

That sounds very good on the surface and I could almost go along with that line of thinking.  In fact, to a point, I do go along with that line of reasoning.  We should all become more familiar with the Founding Documents.

Maybe one of the main problems that might arise from doing so, however, would be that we would all learn that America was founded by Secularists on Secular principles and the old Conservative argument that we were founded to be a “Christian” nation would end up in the out house after all is said and done.

That would be a wrinkle on the Far Right Fringe’s liver wouldn’t it?

When I hear some of the would-be Constitutional Revisionists of the Radical Conservative persuasion, I am reminded of the old preacher who used to tell me to read my Bible for myself and pray that God give me the understand of what it really means.

What that old preacher was telling me was to establish my own belief system by using my own interpretations of what I was reading in the Bible that can be made to say anything someone wants it to say by a proper realignment of words.

The Constitutional Revisionist Radical Right Winger will try to cover his or her ignorance in making such a statement by telling you to “Read the documents and if you see a word you don’t understand, look it up and get the true meaning for yourself.”

That is the same technique some people use for twisting and perverting the Scriptures.  They will make such stupid statements as “Well, I know what King James says, but if you look at the Greek, you will find that it means something other than what you though it meant.”

Well, friends, I am not all that smart and I certainly have not had a direct communication session with God, so I will tell you that it is all Greek to me.

One of the great song and dance routines of crazy Radical Right Wing Fringers these days is that, somehow, we are not living under The Constitution and The Bill of Rights anymore.

When you hear such things as that, what you are really hearing is that we are not living under the Constitution and The Bill of Rights in exactly the same way as the Revisionist Dominionist Extreme elements of Conservatism want us to be living.

In my book, this element has already long since proven what their agenda is.  They have shown (To me anyway) that their agenda is to make sure that Obama is a one term President and that Democracy as we know it gets replaced by King James Religion in the form of some crazy Theocracy that will look more like some Third World religion than it does anything we have ever considered to be “Christian.”

For those who are worried about what “Radical Islam” might mean, I suggest that the concept of “Radical Christianity” is far more frightening.

There has been more death, blood and destruction wrought in the name of Christianity than there has been in any other belief system in the History of Mankind.

The entire “Christian” Bible is rife with stories where murder is committed, blood is spilled, human sacrifices are demanded, wars are waged for seemingly insignificant reasons, and all kinds of carnage is waged in the name of God for so-called “Holy” purposes.

And remember, folks– the Radical Conservatists want us to remember that America is a “Christian” nation.

The last thing I want to warn everyone about is this: Conservatism is always screaming about decentralizing the Federal Government and shrinking it and it’s influence over individual lives.

When I hear such talk as that, I think I am hearing a plea to return America to the days when everything was decided according to the doctrine of States Rights.

That was a time before desegregation and a time before women were allowed to participate in the work force, the military and anywhere outside the confines of home.

It is by listening to the glistening promises of Conservatism and it’s regressionist tendencies that we are courting a reversal of the clock of progress and a return to the dark ages of American National Development and Progress.

Well, that is the way I see things, anyhow. You are perfectly free to draw your own conclusions about how things are and how they should be.

For those of you who are entertaining the idea of taking my advice about consulting “Independent” political think tanks, here is a little further advice to consider:

John Liming - The Liming Liberal Democrat

An American Man, born in 1938 and a Veteran of The U.S. Military. I served honorably in The United States Army (National Guard) and The United States Air Force for a total of seven years and three months active duty during what is now known as The Vietnam Era. My passion is political observation and commentary. My intention is to discuss and debate the extreme conservative ideology that is hurting The People of this Great Country. I will examine the reasons why our beloved America has become so politically divided over the past few years and provide illuminating insight into why I believe this is exactly the agenda of The "Christian" Conservative Right. Written in my own words of course, and strictly my opinion...
