I am reading this story where the President of a for-profit group that calls itself “Tea Party Nation Corporation” has demanded that President Obama come up with proof that he has never engaged in some practices that many might find objectionable.
Not wanting to repeat some of this stuff right now, I have linked to the story at the end of this post.
To my way of thinking this is totally uncalled for and suggests beyond a shadow of a doubt that most of this kind of crap is based on nothing more or less than hatred of our President and of the Democrats, Liberals and Progressives in general.
Alright! I have been listening to people on The Far Right Extreme saying this kind of stuff about The President for most of his term in office but this new one takes the cake as far as I am concerned. This one reaches new heights of what I consider to be patently offensive.
I can almost hear some of the Rightie trolls tittering and giggling even as I put these words to the blog.
How in the world can anyone who has any sense of what is decent and dignified at all even listen to this kind of stuff?
But I believe there are some out there who not only eat this kind of stuff up but cannot wait to get more of it.
I personally do not believe there is anything positive to be gained by rooting around in The President’s past or in trying to paint things into his personal life. Actually, as far as I am concerned, it is not the personal habits of a President that count to my way of thinking. What really counts in my book is how good or how effective a man is as President and when I look at the record, I find that in my own opinion President Obama is tops! He did manage to save the country from total financial disaster with TARP and the bailout of the Auto Industry at the very least. Someone on the Far Right should acknowledge that and give a little thanks for it.
I cannot help but wonder if this latest attack against The President is is just another page from the same old playbook of Republican Dirty Tricks – - – and I choose to believe that it is!
If you want my opinion about all this then here it is:
I think that all public figures ought to have their personal pasts and their personal lives taken apart, brick by brick, until every vestige of anything that might hinder their efficiency or worthiness to hold their offices is revealed.
I think a process like that would certainly show us who the drunks and the dope heads in Government are – - – provided there are any – - – and I think it would also show who the “Immoral” practitioners of illicit sex are – - – provided there are any to be discovered (Cough! Hack! Choke! Sputter! Guffaw!))
I am a firm believer that everyone should have the right to disagree with the President and the Congress and anyone else for that matter, but I am totally offended by this kind of awful talk because I feel that it disrespects the highest office in the land and Americans – - – “Real” Americans – - – do not need to be doing that sort of thing.
In my view this kind of spewing is an act of desperation. I think it is a weapon of last resort. I think The Party of No has gotten themselves into a kettle of fish with The American People and I think they are sweating fear because of their intransigence and obstructionism. I believe America has awakened to what they have tried to do and I believe America is getting sick of it and I think they know they are in the stew with the voters.
I think I will go out on something of a limb here and say that if people are going to be making these kinds of serious insinuations and/or allegations, then the people running off at the mouth should be required to back up their statements with some kind of irrefutable evidence. Would that be fair or what?
In my view, the real danger in allowing this kind of stuff to be widely publicized is that some people will hear it and believe it whether it has been proven or not. Some people apparently only have to hear something from a traditional Media source or from some friend or acquaintance in a social situation and they accept it as Gospel Truth.

I never really thought I would ever live to see these kinds of days come to my beloved America. It hurts as much as it enrages me. How can anyone find it in their heart to even conceive such thoughts much less express them in a public forum?
