This week’s LIVE radio show is dedicated to those single moms who have experienced either physical or emotional domestic violence in their dating relationships. My recent blog post Single Moms and Domestic Violence received such a response, I decided that this subject deserved a LIVE conversation.
If you have experienced physical or emotional violence in relationship, or know someone you believe to be struggling with this issue, this radio show is for you. We will talk a little about what its like to live in a violent relationship; but most of what we will focus on is providing you with hope.
Here are a few of the things we will cover during the show on Tuesday March 29, 2011, at 1pm PST.
1. Is it love or is it addiction?
2. Why does it sometimes take so long to get free?
3. Steps out of denial: choosing a confidante, keeping a journal, paying attention to your insides.
4. Creating safety.
5. When to just walk away.
6. Finding support along the way.
7. Rebuilding your life.

I am a survivor of domestic violence. Both as a child and then again for a brief time as an adult. Today I am happy to report that I am free. I read another article of yours where you describe hearing a young man tell his story and that it inspired you to change. For me it was an advocate showing me a list of behaviors that are typical of perpetrators. It wasn’t until years later, long after I had left that relationship that I began to discover the roots of the problem for me. Also, my own violent behaviors that were yet another layer of the recovery onion. My question is, Why? In your opinion why is there so much domestic violence?
