If you ever want to invite your inner child out to play, I’d suggest attending an LMFAO concert. Huge colorful sets, lots of humor, childlike fun and games with some heavy dance music thrown in … and you get the idea. On Tuesday evening, I was at the Nassau Coliseum having a great time and enjoying the music of LMFAO, Far East Movement, Sidney Samson, and Matthew Koma. For good measure, the show included amazing dance routines from dance contest winners, The Quest Crew. LMFAO is Redfoo (left huge afro) and SkyBlu (right), an electro-rap/hiphop duo from Los Angeles, CA. LMFAO made their major-label debut in 2008 with the single “I’m in Miami Bitch,” followed by their full-length album debut, Party Rock, which was released in July 2009.

LMFAO – Champagne Showers ft. Natalia Kills
The show started on schedule at 7pm with Matthew Koma as the opening act. He performed some of his popular songs and received a warm welcome form the crowd who were really hardcore LMFAO and Far East Movement fans… Yes, I say that because they were the two performances that rocked the house and got us all on our feet dancing… Sidney Samuel came close too, but I’m ahead of myself. by the time LMFAO stepped on stage with their psychedelic colors, electronica sounds, garish clothing, and over the top everything, the crowd was ready and willing to tear the house down… I have to say, those guys are certified fun crazy… There were kids everywhere… Yeah, don’t ask me, ask their mamas.

The show moved quickly and as soon as Matthew was done performing his great songs, I loved Parachute, Dj Sidney Samuel stepped up and rocked it with his sounds… A lot of the kids in the crowd were jumping up and down and the noise level was unbelievable… but the music off Sidney’s equipment was phenomenal… Sidney, you impressed me too… Just saying.

Far East Movement – Dirty Bass Boombox Sessions / Dirty Bass
I don’t know about you, but I love that Far East Movement group and sound… When high-school friends Kev Nish (born Kevin Nishimura), Prohgress (James Roh), and J-Splif, all of whom had grown up in downtown Los Angeles, formed the group in 2003, they didn’t expect to become this huge. DJ Virman joined the lineup a few years later. They had some early buzz with the ir sound and even got to tour overseas as the opening act of Lady Gaga’s Monster Ball Tour. Their hugest hit that finally put them over the top was Like A G6 in 2010 and they haven’t looked back. Frankly, I wanted to see them perform and they didn’t disappoint. Come back for more photos later!

As one of my favorite authors Nora Ephron who passed away on Wednesday would say, “Whatever you choose, however many roads you travel, I hope that you choose not to be a lady…” Nora Ephron 1941-2012. Leave a Litte. Have a lot of fun… Music appeals to all across the universal divide. . Don’t judge till you’ve heard the music… It’s all good. More photos later!
