Occupy Movement Still Baffles Conservatives!

Some Conservative types think they have the Occupy Wall Street Movement down pat and some of them even think they have the political acumen to “Advise” occupiers on what they need to make their point and be successful.

I personally do not believe there are more than perhaps a handful of Conservatives who have the slightest inkling of what the Occupy Movement is about.  Some of the descriptions I hear of the Occupiers coming from the mouths of some Conservatives are obtuse at best and degrading, demeaning, nasty, foul and inexcusable at worst.

When I hear some Conservatives describing the Occupiers, I tell myself that I am only hearing someone describing themselves as reflected in the hopes and dreams of the Occupy Patriots and their cause. The difference between the Occupy Movement’s principles and ideals and those of the Far Right Radical side of Conservatism is the difference between Americans who earned their way and then had it stolen from them and the arrogance of the ones who did the stealing.

Some conservative types get off on reminding us that the “Occupy Movement” is “Leaderless.” In my opinion, most all of the contemporary conservative groups and organizations are equally as leaderless.

I have read articles and heard discussions where the self-proclaimed  purest and holiest of those among the far Right Wing Radicalized Religious factions speak of some of the Occupiers as trying to make a valuable addition to the public discourse by defecating on police cars. I remind those same wise acres that the Far Right Wing elements of American Conservatism have spent years now trying to make statements to the public discourse by defecating on every Law and institution that makes America great.  This includes the Social Security System, Medicare and Medicaid and Food Stamps to name a few.

In fact, most recently, as I recall, it was elements of this Conservatism that tried to defecate on the entire American Economy through means of their resolute obstructionism at the debt ceiling talks a few months ago.

These people do not need to be talking to me about the act of defecation on the Public Good because as I see it, many of them have got that down pat and are never hesitant to make full use of it.

Some Conservatives are crowing about the possibility of the Occupy Movement simply disappearing when the cold weather of winter sets in. In my view that won’t happen any quicker than the Civil Rights Marchers gave up their cause during the bitter winter months of the 1960s when they were getting their heads bashed in by night sticks and their flesh torn by vicious attack dogs held at the end of a leash by the Big and the Blue defenders of rights.

Those of the conservative persuasion who are looking for winter to bring an end to the OWS Movement simply don’t have any inkling of how human resolve works in the face of a crisis of need.

I loved it the other day when I watched this arrogant conservative talking head on television telling us that the OWS people are occupying public spaces that they did not pay for and using bathroom facilities that they did not pay for and so on and so forth.

I guess this idiot doesn’t realize that OWS people pay taxes just the same as anybody else and that they certainly did, in fact, contribute to the paying for of the spaces they are occupying and the bathrooms they are using. How the Far Right does twist the truth to justify it’s own ends, sometime!

Some on the conservative side are advising that if the OWS Movement is to achieve anything or to have any clout, then it will be necessary for them to come up with candidates for public office and get them elected.

As I recall, if memory serves me right, The Civil Rights People never worried about getting people elected to office.

As I remember, they simply asked that the ones who were already in office do something to help them realize their dream of equal rights. So that argument by the obtuse among the Right is full of holes from the beginning.

I think that kind of talk is nothing but distraction. I think the conservatives believe they can win a point about the OWS by confusing issues. It is either that or they are confused to begin with and are getting even more so as the OWS grows and they can’t seem to do anything about it but complain and groan and throw accusations and innuendo.

Much to the contrary of what some Conservatives are preaching in  their desperation over the OWS and what it might mean to them and to America, the OWS does, indeed need solidarity with the incumbent governmental officials!

They  need it very much! What I think the OWS has to accomplish is to show that the American People are in solidarity with their principles and make the point that if the incumbents don’t act to do something about their concerns, there will be a price to be paid at the polls in 2012.  And things could very well develop in this direction. The Civil Rights People’s cause certainly was not harmed by this approach.

Lastly, there are some conservatives who arrogantly assume that OWS Movement people do not have the will to do the work needed to make the alliances and coalitions with government and the population that will see their cause victorious.  I think this is a great underestimation of the power of need, want and desperation that is driving this movement.

In all History when the oppressed have risen with a singularity of purpose, the tides of eventuality have run in their favor and the entire structures of nations and kingdoms have been changed.

Some conservatives seem to be running scared in front of OWS

I think that instead of fighting so hard against the best interests of the less-than-millionaires, some of the powerful game changers on the conservative side ought to do a full circle turn and consider starting to do something good for those who have the greatest need. It might be to their best interests because this thing shows no signs of abating or disappearing.

John Liming - The Liming Liberal Democrat

An American Man, born in 1938 and a Veteran of The U.S. Military. I served honorably in The United States Army (National Guard) and The United States Air Force for a total of seven years and three months active duty during what is now known as The Vietnam Era. My passion is political observation and commentary. My intention is to discuss and debate the extreme conservative ideology that is hurting The People of this Great Country. I will examine the reasons why our beloved America has become so politically divided over the past few years and provide illuminating insight into why I believe this is exactly the agenda of The "Christian" Conservative Right. Written in my own words of course, and strictly my opinion...
