Peculiar Picture #6

Regular visitors to Chubby Chatterbox know that I was once a professional illustrator before shifting my attention to writing. I have a drawer full of peculiar pictures that have never been published, such as this one.
Over the years this illustration has prompted a lot of smiles, but to my knowledge it’s never been published. It was born in a corner of my brain that I don’t always have access to, which is another way of saying it seemed like a good idea when I was painting it but now I don’t have a clue what it means.
Can anyone out there offer an explanation for what’s going on in this picture?

Yes, strange but hilarious!
There is a man wearing the same hat that’s being strategically placed, by something, or someone from above, at the crossroad on the path in front of him. He is holding a map and is outside the gates of a grand city that he has traveled a long way to get to. There are three directions that he can choose from so he checks his map to see exactly where each will lead. The question of which way to go is heavy for him. He does not want to go the ‘wrong’ way. He summons who he thinks of as God to tell him which path to choose. His question activates his own creative wisdom which then caused the giant hat, his hat, to appear, in his imagination, in that exact location. The answer to his pressing question is; Whatever path he chooses, it’s his choice to make. He is the God, the creator, that he summoned.
Wow, you go girl… If I had that much creative imagination I would sit around all day and contemplate my toes. Why just five on each foot? Why not four or six?
Excellent response…
