Right Wingers desperate to steal the election in 2012 will argue until their faces turn blue that the new wave of Voter ID Laws being passed all across the country under the ruse of preventing “Rampant Voter Fraud” is not a suppression tactic but is absolutely necessary to protect the integrity of the voting process itself.
Many of the intransigent Philistines who don’t know any better than something they have heard repeated from the Rightie Propaganda Media will look you square in the face and say idiotic things like, “Well, you need an ID to buy a house or to open a bank account or a whole lot of other things that people do in America today – - – what is the problem with showing an ID when you vote?”
It sounds simple enough and it might even be a valid argument if there are certain elements of the ID and the obtaining of the necessary ID that aren’t present to the process.
For example: If presenting a government-issued ID card at the time of voting requires a person to obtain and pay for copies of substantiating evidence such as copies of birth certificates – - – for a fee – - – in order to be able to get that required voter ID in the first place . . . it makes the ID presenting requirement technically into a “Poll Tax” and Poll Taxes are illegal in The United States of America – - – illegal and unconstitutional!
Some of the mentally absent who stand behind the voter ID requirements will argue, “But the ID card is “Free” and all anyone who wants one has to do is to go to the agency where they are being issued and get it. What’s the big deal with that?”
There is no “Big Deal” with that if the person needing the ID card does not have to shell out any money for a taxi or a bus or to pay someone to take them to the agency where they can get their “Free” ID. The minute the person needing to obtain the “Free” ID has to pay out a single nickle in order to be able to get it, it is no longer “Free” and technically becomes an illegal poll tax.
The Righties who want so desperately to suppress the Democrat Vote in 2012 will use every lying trick and argument in the playbook to cover their asses when it comes to defending the voter ID (Voter Suppression) Laws of 2012.
To the truly observant, the Rightist ploy becomes so thick with transparent nastiness and dirty tricks that it could be cut with a knife, raised with a fork or spooned out of the mental slop jar from which it first festered forth.
According to every report I have ever read, the incidence of the “Voter Fraud” they are trying to “Protect The Sanctity of The Vote” from is so minuscule – - – almost non-existent – - – that many judges who have the clout to do something about this manure-coated outrage are now beginning to take notice and to block some of the nonsense – - – particularly in places like Florida, Texas and Ohio.
I think they have a lot more work cut out for them if they are going to make sure all eligible voters have the chance to vote in 2012 – - – a helluva lot more work because Rightie Intransigence never sleeps and that insipidly clever collective mind of theirs never rests in trying to devise new and dirtier tricks to deprive people of their voting privilege in the 2012 election.
Please try to remember who we are dealing with here.
I think we are dealing with the same obstructionist bunch who declared early on that their main political priority was to make sure President Obama never was granted a second term as President – - – and a lot of their mindless little disciples who swallow every lie they tell as if their very lives depended upon it – - – the faithful foot soldiers of Right Wing Tyranny – - – The “True Believers” to the end – - – those who are more than willing to keep the lies alive. That is who we are dealing with when we confront the Voter ID suppression Laws that have been appearing so rampantly during this election cycle according to my personal belief.
I believe they meant what they said and I think they will waste no opportunity to make their hateful agenda come to be a horrible Democracy-Destroying reality.

I am with you on this one, John. All a person needs to do is look at where the vested interests lie and what the effect is– it is the Republicans’ other major tactic to win elections and to maintain the oppression of the many by a fading few. As a country we look more and more like South Africa just before Apartheid was renounced. A Republican Judge in Texas is quoted in today’s papers as saying that there will be civil war if Obama is elected. So he’s raising taxes to beef up the sherrif’s office. How crazy can it get?
