Never let it be said that the right wing is not interested in protecting the health of Americans!
(Choke, Gasp, Giggle, Cough, Hack….)
Recently a powerful court in Washington reportedly struck down some proposed ruling by The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that would have forbidden some power plants to send clouds of toxic smoke across some state lines and I guess some of the right wing media almost went berserk with excitement and joy that another “Costly and Unnecessary” (Quotes are mine) “Regulation” was defeated.
Oh joy! Billionaires and Corporatists win again – - – and the health of the citizens suffers another right wing blow for the sake of profits at all costs. Typical, I would say!
As I understand things, the right wing has had a long-standing dispute going with the Obama administration about what they like to call a “War On Coal” in this country – - – which, by the way is total bull crap because there has been more coal mining activity under Obama than there has been for a long long time now – - – but the Righties who cannot abide the President or his policies are not going to tell us that now are they?
So, the right wing thinks they have won a victory against President Obama with what I consider to be this irresponsible court ruling of theirs. I think many on the right wing would do anything to win any kind of point that would make The President or the administration look bad but this time I think they have done it with total disregard to the health issues that could affect thousands of Americans. But what else can be expected? Isn’t that the nature of a Greedy Beast who consumes all and shares nothing?
One of the things that bothers me most about the right wing’s seemingly callous attitude about this court decision and it’s implications for health issues is that none of them seem the least bit concerned that implementation of the EPA ruling could have the effect of preventing any number of premature deaths associated with the regulated emissions – - – by some estimates that number of avoidable deaths could range as high as 13,000 or even more.
But as I have often suspected, it looks once again like the almighty dollar trumps health concerns with some Righties.
